Coho Ho Ho Kickoff Party!
20 Mar 2016, Posted by in Coho Ho Ho, LifeNot in the sense of a party party, but more of a social. Good draft beer, grilled salmon, and a few potluck items thrown in for variety, interesting conversations, and I met a few very cool people.
YOU COULD DEFINITELY TELL IN THE CROWD, JUST BY LOOKING AND LISTENING WHO WAS SEASONED AND WHO ISN’T.
They have a great setup in the back of Fisheries Supply, not in the store, but on the property in the back in a separate area. Screens, boards, chairs and lights, plenty of room, well lit and clean. Does not look ramshackle at all.
I met a young couple who seem really cool, this is their first rally as well. The guy reminds me of myself 15 or so years ago to the T, except he doesn’t look like a Goodwill refuge and his wife is better looking than my girlfriend back then. It was in in the 90s and 2000s, what can I say, the crazier you looked, the more people paid you …. before the DotCom.
You could definitely tell in the crowd, just by looking and listening who was seasoned and who isn’t. It’s comforting. As in, I know that if you show righteous effort, these people (cruisers) are the best in the world.
Exactly like the Seattle hackers in, no one gives a damn what you do, as long as you handle your shit.
NO ONE GIVES A DAMN WHAT YOU DO, AS LONG AS YOU HANDLE YOUR SHIT
So I know that my goals can be met, and I know that it can be done. So I’m doing it. I know some people will look at me like I am a complete loon, because, let’s face it, this idea of mine isn’t exactly sane, and I know some people will get it. I also know that if I show the world I am serious, then the world will take me seriously.
Doug, one of the leaders of the Coho Ho Ho crew says this –
“If you are going to be a captain, then always be a captain.”
Yup, sounds like solid advice to me.
